Well, I guess it’s about time for my mid-year blog post. As you’ve probably already guessed, my day-to-day life is still about as boring as it was before. I’m still working a lot, and my life still revolves around my cozy little house and my sweet little dog, Colby. There have been a few highlights amidst the boredom, though.
Like a girls’ trip to NYC with six of my closest work friends in April:
And officially entering my late-20’s in March:
And gaining UAB fame once again (you may remember my billboard fame from last year):
But for the most part, my life has been a “boring” busy, with most of my time spent working…or thinking about work…or talking about work. However, as I have recently come to realize, even though I live a boring life, I also live a happy life. I love my job, and I also love the time I spend at my house with my little Colby. Colby and I really make a good team. Although I haven’t completely ruled out the possibly of getting another dog or—if the odds would ever turn in my favor—of having a more human companion (preferably a handsome and rich one), I really am happy with the way my life is now.
And I think Colby is happy, too. Every morning he has this routine of getting out of bed and immediately going outside and laying in the sunshine. And he’ll just lay out there by himself and look around for a long while. If he were human (which sometimes I have to remind myself that he isn’t…), I could totally picture him having his morning cup of coffee out there during this time. I love to crack my blinds and just watch him as he lays in the sunshine. He always looks like he is deep in thought, and just so…happy.
The other morning, I decided to take a lesson from Colby and I went outside and sat in the sunshine for a while. While I was out there, I snapped this picture of Colby during his morning routine.
I'm not sure what it is about this picture, but I just really love it. This is my life. And it’s a happy life.
